The Pittsburgh synagogue shooting is believed to be the deadliest attack on Jews in American history. To that end, Jews around the globe are celebrating — #ShowUpForShabbat — a nationwide initiative aimed at filling synagogues across the country this weekend, and by extension, showing direct solidarity to the Pittsburgh Jewish community.
In light of the above, rabbis and educators around the globe are preparing for this grassroots event and are also educating their students about all things Shabbat-related.
Indeed, many participants to #ShowUpForShabbat will be people who have committed to come to services for the first time (in a long time). To help you best educate your students as to what Shabbat is all about and how it is the holy day of rest, we have compiled a roundup of helpful links below that provide free classes, downloadable prayer books, resources, articles and more to help you and others have an inspiring Shabbat!
