Journeytobetterspeech.com is a website and blog established in January 2017 with the goal of reaching out to the wider Jewish community (from all backgrounds and levels of observance) and address the struggle that we all face using proper and non-destructive communication.

Started by talmidim of Rav Yitzchok Berkovits and loosely based on chaburos that were taught in the Jerusalem Kollel, the site addresses the halachos and hashkafos connected to all aspects of speech and communication. It investigates how our speech can affect different areas of our lives our relationships with family, friends and work colleagues and will provide interesting and relevant cases to help understand the applications of the halachos.

The site also features a weekly parsha sheet with divrei Torah, ideas connected to speech, as well as an advanced section with chapter summaries of the Sefer Chafetz Chaim as a learning aid.

One of the most important aspects of the site, distinguishing it from other resources, is the presentation of personal struggles that we all confront in this area. We share the journeys of the authors, their colleagues and people they are working with in active groups to improve their speech. We acknowledge failures (anonymously!) and what can be done in the future to prevent their recurrence.

In the long-term there are plans to set up ‘starter packs’ that will enable groups across the world to launch and run their own facilitated chaburos. For further information please refer to:
