We are excited to announce the launch of a new program in English to help people teach and learn Gemara B’Iyun. It is called Derech B’Yam HaTalmud. It is available now on the first perek of Meseches Gittin as a sefer and as PDF downloads.

Derech B’Yam HaTalmud provides a guided approach to learning the Gemara and Meforshim. It summarizes the major points in the Gemara in English, and inserts phrases in Hebrew and Aramaic to help readers improve their skills. It then mentions specific Rishonim and Achronim to learn. Questions are provided on each of the sources to encourage independent learning of them, and the materials then summarize the major points of each of the meforshim.

Derech B’Yam HaTalmud is especially useful for Mekarevim and Mechanchim to learn one-on-one with students to help them understand the Gemara and see the bigger picture which the Meforshim provide. It is also useful for people in the field to use for their own learning, to provide a structured derech through the Meforshim without needing to spend time searching for particular sources.

The materials can be purchased as a two-volume sefer, Ebook or as individual PDF files.

The initial materials cover the first perek of Gittin. Under development are the initial perakim of Kessuvos and Bava Metzia, with others still to come.
