Amazon sells a great variety of merchandise.  People love using Amazon today because…well… it’s Amazon. We all know that Amazon didn’t start as a portal marketing a broad range of goods. Amazon began by selling many books. And, increasingly, the e-commerce giant diversified from books to shoes, to drones, etc.

Amazon Publishing now puts out 1,100 titles a year, and then uses its massive Prime membership base to sell those books, reports The Atlantic. It’s a great platform to get noticed and it’s a super-simple site that allows people to buy your book or sefer online.

To that end, if you are looking for an easy way to print a book – large or small – Amazon becomes a great way to help you publish a quick book on Chanukah or Purim or even your own notes or kuntres that you want to have bound and printed for yourself. I know one rabbi who does just that! If you want to consider publishing on Amazon, know this:

You don’t pay for book printing – you simply collect a commission whenever it sells. You’re in charge of the price and associated commission as well. When you upload your book, Amazon tells you what their costs are — $2.50 for example, for a 150-page book. From there you can price your book at anything higher.
