What am I looking forward to on the day I take off my mask for good? Am I looking forward to breathing again? For sure! Am I looking forward to not seeing the world through fogged-up glasses? You bet! Am I looking forward to not having some irritating cloth stuck in my mouth? You better believe I am.

But, you know what I am looking forward to the most? I am looking forward to no longer living in a state of Hester Panim.* I am tired of listening to muffled voices behind a grotesque mask as if it forms monster-like shapes on people’s faces.

Yet, most of all, I am looking forward to seeing your beautiful Tzelem Elokim. I miss your warm smile as you greet me. I want to feel the love and welcoming feeling your full face gives me.

In short, I hate living in Hester Panim. I want to live in Gilui Panim and see your face in all its Divine glory! That is what I am looking forward to the most!

* Hester Panim means “the hiding of the face.”
